[opensuse-factory] Can I copy repository list from one box to another?
I want to use my list of repositories that I've currently got setup on one box to another (so I don't have to do all that typing). What do I need to copy over from one machine to another so that I can use machine #1's list of repos to update machine #2? Thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

a zypper lr --export myrepos.repo in the source machine. copy myrepos.repo to the target machine, and then zypper ar -r myrepos.repo done ;) HTH, -- “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” - Gandhi Cristian Rodríguez R. While you are hampered by the bug, you can also do it the old fashioned way: become root cd /etc/zypp/repos.d tar czvf myrepos.tar.gz *.repo copy to new machine /etc/zypp/repos.d tar xzvf myrepos.tar.gz

If you've got ssh working # scp <box1>:/etc/zypp/repos.d/* <box2>:/etc/zypp/repos.d/ I do this frequently to several boxes - as recently as last night copying the 11.0 repos, even from x86_64 to x86 boxes. I backed up the factory repos to another directory as I've had conflicts with mixed repos in the past. # zypper ref # zypper dup No conflicts reported updating from factory to 11.0 GM. You're probably using an old zypper, this bug has been already fixed. This is a workaround: $ zypper ar -r file:/path/to/myrepos.repo cheers, jano --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
