How do you find orphaned packages? I'm checking in Yast Software Management and I can't find anything.
/Micke.
In Yast Software Management * From the "View" drop down on the left, select "Repositories" * From the list of repositories, select "@System" (should be selected by default) * Sort by column "Installed (Available)" descending (click twice on the column header) The packages with red version information are either orphaned (only one version number, and nothing "available" in parentheses), or are installed in a greater version than the system would use based on the repositories selected. Going this way is more manual work than just running zypper dup, but Yast very nicely gives feedback about dependencies (which helps me deciding if a package might still be needed, for example because it's required by a manually installed package).
