Oh goody, the real reason seems to be that libreoffice now depends on Problem: nothing provides google-carlito-fonts needed by libreoffice-4.3.0.4-197.3.i586 Solution 1: do not install libreoffice-4.3.0.4-197.3.i586 Solution 2: break libreoffice-4.3.0.4-197.3.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies Really, why does it do that? It's not that it wouldn't run if that font is missing. Because it is the main Factory repo, so the person who packaged it probably thought it was in the other versions. It is needed as it is Google's clone of Office 2007+ default font, which is rather important for Office compatibility. Feel free to request the inclusion of the font into tumbleweed using the build service, or its mailing list, its owner is usually happy to do so. It isn't really clear to me if it should be in Libreoffice:Factory/openSUSE_Tumbleweed or Tumbleweed itself and I don't even know where to begin with requesting anything. I've just temporarily enabled the Factory-OSS repo and installed the font. There is a separate "real" Tumbleweed Libreoffice repo at: openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Libreoffice that I try to keep up to date with the most "stable" version of libreoffice (which can differ from the Factory version a bunch). Perhaps you should use that instead? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I was using that before. I've switched to the other repo explicitly because I wanted to see if a regression introduced about two years ago was finally fixed (no, it was not).

At the moment the missing font (which is still a packaging error IMHO) is the only thing that doesn't seem to work and it was an easy enough fix. It also depends on liberation-fonts, which is troublesome in another way: I have liberation2-fonts installed for the extra Unicode support, but libreoffice has a hard dependency on liberation-fonts (the older version which can't be installed in parallel to liberation2-fonts). Can these please be fixed to either be recommendation or not trying to roll back the system to some other version than the user wants to have installed? The ChangeLog of libreoffice contains (hey, THAT's why we have it, no?) +Fri Aug 8 12:57:33 UTC 2014 - tchvatal [ @ ] suse.com + +- Require some fonts for compat: liberation / carlito fonts. bnc#824908 Sadly enough, it's a non-public bug.. but OBS tells us at least the title: "OOXML: pptx import - Regression - Semicircle displayed to a line" It might be a shot with a canon on a bird; Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
