[opensuse-factory] Wifi OK using iwl3945 on T60 Thinkpad
Hello all The following is just info because I raised a bug [368513] concerning the fact that my Wifi didn't work using iwl3945 module from the Alpha2 DVD on my T60 Thinkpad... ###### I downloaded the boot.iso and burnt it to a CD and did a network install of Factory this weekend on my T60 Thinkpad. user@newkid:~> md5sum boot*iso acb87483b456da3cf1ff586eaf597c84 boot.iso The network install went fine (I used a eth0 connection and not a wlan0 connection!). Once factory was installed I ran yast2/network and configured the wireless network dmesg are below : Writing back config space on device 0000:03:00.0 at offset 1 (was 100102, writing 100106) iwl3945: iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode firmware file req failed: Reason -2 iwl3945: Could not read microcode: -2 I then installed the "iwl3945-ucode-2.14.1.5.41.rpm" Once I installed the "iwl3945-ucode-2.14.1.5.41.rpm" which contained the required iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode file the wifi (WPA) connection worked OK when I manually selected my "named" wireless connection via KNetworkManager.
