Recent zypper dup wants to install packages I don't want (Cinnamon DE)
Hi list, While trying to upgrade TW 20230321 to 20230325 with (recommended) `zypper dup` it tries to install quite a handful of Cinnamon DE packages (see line 21-22 at https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/45d99ade41f2) So, generally speaking, how do I figure out which package update introduces these unwanted dependencies so I could either delete the package altogether or file a bug against it? I've also generated zypper's solver test case but still couldn't find any clues as to why cinnamon got introduced in first place; I've uploaded it to https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AMBkTQ2TVfelvJ8-y9uBRz6WKTUdGg7Y/view for anyone interested. TIA. -- Regards, Andrei Dziahel
Hello, Try this via termial> sudo zypper rm -u —dry-run cinnamon* ## look for what gets removed that you did not want removed, if nothing then run without ‘—dry-run’ and add cinnamon to locked out packages till you find a cleaner way, for locking out, do> sudo zypper al cinnamon*

Hi Emanuel,
Thank you for your suggestions. Since I don't have anything
cinnamon-related installed, the command you suggested didn't show any
packages. And yes, I am looking for a cleaner way indeed.
Cheers.
