Hey all, after the update in $Subject i had to remove the caches for sddm (/var/lib/sddm/.cache) and kde (~/.cache) folder to not get complete white/black screens. Anybody else hitting this? Maybe the caches can be wiped after an upgrade if needed? I seem to have the same issues. With NVIDIA drivers, monitors stay black after reboot with kernels 4.14.6-1 and 4.14.4-1, while accessible via SSH. Seems to be in a failed state of Framebuffer or so - because there's no error messages in Xorg.0.log, journal nor dmesg. Still searching, thank god SSH works. :-) Trying a different display-manager now... -- Markus Feilner Team Lead Documentation P.S.: I moved - new home address: Wöhrdstraße 10, 93059 Regensburg - - - _This incident will be documented._ - - - +49 173 5876 838 (also via Signal), privat: +49 170 302 7092 mfeilner@suse.[com|de] http://www.suse.com G+: https://plus.google.com/+MarkusFeilner Xing: http://www.xing.com/profile/Markus_Feilner LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/markusfeilner #mfeilner: Jabber, Skype, Twitter openSUSE: http://www.opensuse.org - - - SUSE Linux GmbH GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg)

Oh, just out of curiosity... I wonder why "service display-manager stop" seems to take ages. -- Markus Feilner Team Lead Documentation P.S.: I moved - new home address: Wöhrdstraße 10, 93059 Regensburg - - - _This incident will be documented._ - - - +49 173 5876 838 (also via Signal), privat: +49 170 302 7092 mfeilner@suse.[com|de] http://www.suse.com G+: https://plus.google.com/+MarkusFeilner Xing: http://www.xing.com/profile/Markus_Feilner LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/markusfeilner #mfeilner: Jabber, Skype, Twitter openSUSE: http://www.opensuse.org - - - SUSE Linux GmbH GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg)

I have to correct myself about dmesg: [ 16.722830] NVRM: Your system is not currently configured to drive a VGA console on the primary VGA device. The NVIDIA Linux graphics driver requires the use of a text-mode VGA console. Use of other console drivers including, but not limited to, vesafb, may result in corruption and stability problems, and is not supported.
