[opensuse-factory] How does get_version_number.sh or get_version_release.sh work?
Hi just as subject says, I'd like to know how exactly this API is supposed to work. Can I use tools like tar, tr, sort, ... instead of those not documented shell functions? Werner -- "Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a swimming pool." -- Edward Burr

It's not supposed to work at all. There's a couple of packages that still contain those files, but they have no effect AFAICT.
