[opensuse-factory] Konqueror insists on viewing all directories with fsview
Hello all Ever since I did a zypper dup on Tumbleweed this week konqueror insists on viewing all directories with fsview. More importantly I can not find a way to get rid of the fsview view profile, which means for me, that Konqueror is all but useless. I agree that Dolphin works fine but I was hoping that someone here might know of a work around or an option that can be changed to make Konqueror use other view profiles (such as "Web browsing") ? # My setup details follow: Konqueror Version 4.14.10 Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.12 # plasmashell -v QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root' plasmashell 5.4.1 # konsole -v QCoreApplication::arguments: Please instantiate the QApplication object first Qt: 5.5.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.14.0 Konsole: 15.08.0 uname -a Linux home 4.2.1-1-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Sep 25 08:21:54 UTC 2015 (6996a42) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Thanks in advance Regards James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Konqueror hasn't been ported to KF5 and released, and thus it can't load the file management part (which is shared with Dolphin, which instead is KF5 based from 15.08 onwards). So at the moment there isn't a proper solution until Konqueror in KF5 form is released. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Well, it should work if we wouldn't actively *remove* dolphin4 from kdebase4 with an openSUSE-specific patch: https://build.opensuse.org/package/rdiff/KDE:Applications/kdebase4?linkrev=base&rev=29 KDE upstream added the KDE4 based dolphin/dolphinpart back to kde-baseapps (co-installable with the KF5 version) in time for the 15.08.0 release to fix Konqueror, after it was missing in RC1. And *we* deliberately broke it again... So the solution would actually be easy I suppose: remove that patch and ship the files in a dolphin4 package or maybe even in the konqueror package itself. FYI, a new dolphin4 package, that will fix Konqueror as file manager, is on its way to Tumbleweed now: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/340430 It will hopefully still be accepted for Leap as well. Great.
And it has been accepted to Leap as well. So Konqueror should work in the final release... :) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
