[opensuse-factory] List of valid licenses for packages?
Hi, Today I got a bunch of new packages rejected for Factory because of an inexact license tag in the spec file ("GPL" instead of "GPLv2 or later"). How is a packager supposed to know? What are acceptable strings in the license tag? Even the example in the wiki¹ has 'GPL'. cu Ludwig [1] http://en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Build_Tutorial#KDE_Packages -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Make a new rpmlint check with all allowed license strings. Bye, Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

And even some yast2 packages have 'License: GPL' ... I extracted the License: field from all packages in SUSE, so it should be some clue[1] for it. But volunteers for cleaning of it are welcome ;-) Pavol - what's the state of Licensing Guidelines[2]? There can be a list of allowed licenses. Good advise, but without first having a list of allowed texts it's rather impossible to make a test. Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
