[opensuse-factory] RE: Road-map for openSuse 13.3?
Stupid question: Tumbleweed is actually openSUSE 13.3 "Testing" right..?? this would be the most logical path... (possible) Roadmap: OpenSUSE Factory (alpha packages) --> OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (beta and stable packages, fix all small quirks) --> OpenSUSE 13.3 (stable Release) As for Leap 42: pointless, i don't see "OpenSUSE-ers" using this... No. Tumbleweed is actually Tumbleweed, a rolling release w/o a number designation. It is not a "testing" release or a testbed for any later release other than itself, another, future Tumbleweed which may happen tomorrow and again the day after, ie: "rolling". openSUSE 13.3 "Will not be!"
this would be the most logical path...
There is no "logical path" from Tumbleweed to a release that is not planned. The next openSUSE release other than Tumbleweed will be Leap 42.1 and is not based on or derived from Tumbleweed. If you are really interested, follow the discussion in the chat room "opensusse-factory". But you are quite late into the work-flow as iiuc the first milestone was released 24 July 2015. openSUSE 13.3 "Will not be!" https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap ps: something weird with your mail system. In the past several weeks I have rec'd notice that mail from opensuse-XXXX lists was bouncing from my system, but the only bounced mails are from: André Verwijs <dutch.glory@yahoo.com> But quite possibly can just write it off as being another in a long list of difficulties yahoo has dealing with and delivering mail. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

No. There will not be openSUSE 13.3, and the stable release is no longer derived from tumbleweed. It will be derived from SLES/SLED instead, with missing components taken from tumbleweed. And it will be named Leap 42.1.
As for Leap 42: pointless, i don't see "OpenSUSE-ers" using this...
You have no choice in the matter. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
