[opensuse-factory] belgium ID usage problems
Hello all , if installed the openSuSE10.2 RC1 to checkout the current status of belgium-eID support . durring test i found following problems : - problems with ACR38 pcsc driver searching in /proc/bus/usb , this seems to be fix in a update at the factory package => pcsc-acr38-100705_Ppcsc-acr38-100705_P-37-37 will this go into the OpenSuSE 10.2 GM ? - the eID-belgium tools don't work because there looking for /usr/lib/libpcsclite.so which doesn't exist , only libpcsclite.so.1 and libpcsclite.so.1.0.0.0 , fixed this by adding addional symlink => reported as Bug 225652 - the beid-pkcs11-register.html don't work because it sets the library to /usr/local/lib/libbeidpkcs11.so but the file is located at /usr/lib/pkcs11/libbeidpkcs11.so => reported as Bug 225653 from this point , i got the firefox extenstion working , beid tools are working and i can read the cert using the opensc pkcs15-tool command. question: will this be fixed with an update ? luc --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Definitely not 10.2 GM, as it's... GM ;) 10.2 is released now, it cannot be changed. But an online update would make sense, I guess. (I'm not working for Novell, just suggesting here, I can't decide/influence on that matter)
- the eID-belgium tools don't work because there looking for /usr/lib/libpcsclite.so which doesn't exist , only libpcsclite.so.1 and libpcsclite.so.1.0.0.0 , fixed this by adding addional symlink => reported as Bug 225652
Looking for a .so is a bug in the first place. The libpcsclite.so should have the SONAME libpcsclite.so.1 -- that way, when the tools are linked (at compile time) against libpcsclite.so, the library dependency stored in the binaries is libpcsclite.so.1 (and not libpcsclite.so) So the right fix shouldn't be a symlink, but the right SONAME in libpcsclite.so.1.*
- the beid-pkcs11-register.html don't work because it sets the library to /usr/local/lib/libbeidpkcs11.so but the file is located at /usr/lib/pkcs11/libbeidpkcs11.so => reported as Bug 225653
Bug indeed.
from this point , i got the firefox extenstion working , beid tools are working and i can read the cert using the opensc pkcs15-tool command.
question: will this be fixed with an update ?
cheers

It's gone in the goldmaster AFAIR.

You should test earlier ;-) I guess we update those, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

- the eID-belgium tools don't work because there looking for /usr/lib/libpcsclite.so which doesn't exist , only libpcsclite.so.1 and libpcsclite.so.1.0.0.0 , fixed this by adding addional symlink => reported as Bug 225652

So the right fix shouldn't be a symlink, but the right SONAME in libpcsclite.so.1.* i noticed that there is no libpcsclite.la file so the eid-Belgium tools will never find the correct libraries
