[opensuse-factory] KDE4 not shutting down

Hey Group; @ things I have been seeing is 1. KDE4 not exiting properly. it just hangs after bring up the Logout button and pushing it with the mouse. The only way to kill it is either pull the plug (not good) or from a console tty# ps ax then kill -9 #### 2. When going to any other <CTRL><ALT><F1-5> it seems KDE or X left in <CTRL>F7 will just crash with nothing but the normal screen running. When this happens I get a full screen of KDE related error. I suffer this do. But I work around this with brutal "sudo halt" as at night I have no time to dig into terminal. I didn't notice anything strange inside dmesg or /var/log/dmesg. I can suspect KDM for strange behaviour (another one of its stupid behaviours is auto login not working everytime *). * I can even suspect, why. xdm (kdm) service is started by init very early and KDM doesn't react on hitting [enter] until a certain moment, probably 'til a service starts. I don't like KDM, but using GDM with KDE4 is rather pointless. Also KDE+GDM doesn't work well, just like GNOME+KDM. -- Best regards, Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek http://blog.jakubrusinek.pl/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
