[opensuse-factory] Terminal window in 13.1
When I open a terminal there are 2 things present- 1. the Menubar and 2. a "Taskbar" - or whatever it's called - at the bottom of the window. I always deselect the Menubar but in 13.1 this deselection won't "stick" and the darn thing keeps reappearing the next time I open the terminal. I also always remove the bottom "Taskbar" as it is useless and only takes up screen space -- but I cannot find the place where I can remove it. I did it in 12.3 but forgot where this was done (in 12.2 it was part of the Edit Profile section but this was moved somewhere in 12.3). Could someone please tell me where to go to to remove this "Taskbar"? And re 1 above, anyone know how to make the removal of the Menubar "stick"? The one you get when you click on 'Gecko' and then see "Terminal"! BC

Dear Basil, 1. Which DE do you use (KDE, Gnome, Mate, XFCE, FVWM, LXDE, TWM, ...) 2. Which exact Name and Version does "Terminal" give in its "Help" menu? FYI there is Gnome-Terminal, KDE-Konsole, XFCE-Terminal, LXTerminal, ... Now which one do you want to use in which Desktop Environment? What You gave as info was like: "My Browser doesn't work". NOT helpfull. - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

If you look at my Signature line it shows (and has shown for many months) what my system is and which DE I am using. I am also using openSUSE 13.1 which is updated on a daily basis so which "terminal" version it has is immaterial from my point of view - the version is what comes with the Beta version of 13.1. Basil, The fact that you are using KDE on 13.1, doesn't mean to say that you are also using Konsole as the Terminal. If you look in the menu, then you might see the word konsole underneath Terminal. This is exactly the same as what was already indicated with the Webbrowser, which unfortunately is also represented in the menu, where you have the Webbrowser as an entry, but this could be firefox, chromium, opera, etc. If it is Konsole, then just go to Tools->Configure Konsole. There you have the first option for the menubar and the second option is for the tabbar. Both can be configured to your liking, Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you for this, Raymond. I was trying to find this in 12.3 so that I could use it in 13.1 but, of course, this Tools/Configure Konsole disappears after it is used. But now that you pointed me at this I now have got rid of the Menu and the Tab bar. Thanks again.
