Since 0.6, Clementine [1] is really good competitor for amarok, but it is built only with Qt. It's lightweight and powerful audio player. First version of package has been prepared over one year ago and was available in KDE:Extra repository. Now in devel project [2] we have current version, 0.7.1. Clementine is licensed under GPLv3.

It would be great to have clementine in oss repository. I'm not c++ coder but I can take responsibility for maintaining this package.

I don't think you need permission first. Just go ahead and do the submit request.

Second thought. You might want to bring up adding clementine to the KDF repository on the -kde mailing list. But as long as you volunteer to maintain the package I'm sure noone will mind.
It will be great to see clementine in Tumbleweed repo also.

The licence is GPLv3+, I've added that and a couple of other cleanups. You should submit the package to openSUSE:Factory use the command line "osc sr multimedia:apps clementine openSUSE:Factory -m "This message should provide similar info to what you've written above"

Agree I downloaded it and installed it and it works very well. A big plus is that it seems to have more sound modules. I built it up an then checkinstall made an RPM. It seems a bit faster and offer many pictures over Amaroks one image
