[opensuse-factory] Plasma 5.3 - Configure Desktop - can't use functions that require root
HI Tried a few things in "Configure Desktop" that require root password to apply e.g. tried to change KDM login theme but when you press <Apply>, you get this message "Unable to authenticate/execute the action: (code 4)". I could launch Yast from "Configure Desktop" as it correctly prompts for password. I have logged a bug report regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

As advised earlier, "Favorites" in the "K" menu are likely pointing to kde4 aps. Remove them and replace with kde plasma 5 aps. In the case of "Configure Desktop" (which is for kde4), to controle kde plasma 5, use "System Settings" from "Applications -> Settings", (systemsetting5). Note that many problems resolved here may also be the same problems you see. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

aha.. thanks. Looks like there's a need for a one stop shop for all these sorts of things.

FYI, I wrote something about usage on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_Plasma_5, unfortunately I couldn't finish it completely due lack of time. Notice that it's still outdated as it implies the existence of the 4.x Workspace, which is no more. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: 6E1A4E79 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
