[opensuse-factory] systemd and not powering off the system
Hi, Since I switched from sysvinit to systemd on my Factory system, I notice that it fails to power down after a shutdown, while it did that OK before. Now, it just sits there and tells me the system has been halted but leaves it running. Is that a configuration problem or a systemd-related bug? I found none on file in Bugzilla as a dependency of the "systemd by default" bug, so I wanted to ask here if it's just a one-off. (I found a bug for my second problem, which is apache not starting properly, so I won't complain about that here.) I also found that, hardware was Acer Aspire 1551 netbook. Is there a bug report? Tim -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

"halt" works with current Factory+systemd in KVM, but I remember having the same problem before. Did you try "poweroff" instead of halt? What I'm doing is clicking "Shut down" from KDE, no idea what it calls behind the scene. Robert Kaiser -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

There is an old bug report about the problem (for 11.4) which probably needs to be updated: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=655141 Reading this KDE uses what is defined in /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc And my system with KDE 4.7 has: [Shutdown] # The command (subject to word splitting) to run to halt the system. # Default is "/sbin/shutdown -h -P now" #HaltCmd= Christian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
