I could get the generator out of a car, attach it to a room-bicycle, and generate electricity enough for my laptop :-) What I mean is that if one folder gets corrupt, I have tools to rebuild it. With Alpine I can read it (or most of it) and copy the emails to a new folder, which then can be read by dovecot and served to thunderbird. I did this some weeks back.
