I'm getting confused. There were sources up until RC1, there still are sources for the addons. By your reasoning they shouldn't exist? What's the reason for jigdo being unpopular with SUSE? My own experience with torrent isn't that hot - downloaded 4GB of a 4.3GB DVD, then the download sources all disappeared. No way to fix it up -> 4GB wasted traffic.
