The video card is a ATI Radeon HD 5670, with the open source driver.
The problem can be related to the video driver?
Yes.
Or the google earth package X86-64 is not really 64 bits, because to make it to work I must to install many 32 bits libraries.
This should not matter.
Please open a bugreport against XOrg.
