Upstream rejected this type of features, but Cristian RodrÃguez provided a useful improvement of my code.
Please provide a URL to access the upstream rejection.
In short, it was rejected because it does not really belong in systemd. The key points: (lennart) "To inherit the num lock state from the BIOS to kernel please fix this problem at the source, and fix the kernel to simply inherit the state. I am not sure we should add BIOS parsing code to systemd, this really sounds like a job for the kernel. " Yes I agree, that's right however.. as Kay puts it talking about the VT subsystem in the kernel. "What we have today does not even work, it's full of bugs, issues we can't solve, and full of promises we can't hold today. Kernel VTs are just a forgotten and not-really-working kernel facility, nobody will fix it for us, hence we should not make it more complicated as it already is, but work on leaving it behind." So, everything new must go to the userspace Virtual Terminal implementation, called KMSCON which is currently under development. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
