Sure. But if you want just the result to be private it works fine. So once you have all dependencies you can use -o to build.
One could always set up an own OBS instance, configure and populate it with binaries from download.o.o and then build against that. BTDT. Not for the crazy reasons brought up here, but to prove a bug in OBS that was not reproducible easily on build.o.o
