Hello,
I would like to submit a new package to Factory later but unfortunately the licensing is not fitting cleanly with the packaging rules. The package in question is this: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:LKucharczyk/mac The license is described here: https://www.monkeysaudio.com/license.html
It says "Monkey's Audio source can be included in GPL and open-source software, although Monkey's Audio itself will not be subjected to external licensing requirements or other viral source restrictions."
Does that mean the package cannot be included in openSUSE? If it can, what should I use as a value for "License" in the spec file? I've tried "custom" but that just spits out a warning with all the possible values ("custom" not being one of them).
This is unfortunately a custom license that first needs an entry in SPDX - and upstream authors should really stop doing that. Because the nature of the license is very generic and fits the open source definition so it can be included in openSUSE. Use SUSE-Permissive in your spec file please. Greetings, Stephan
