hi,
when I run "yast2 lan" I get a popup saying "This configuration is not compatible with NetworkManager. Use nm-settings applet or switch to Traditional Method with ifup" and everything disabled. First of all, I assume that the configuration isn't compatible with _yast2_ and not NetworkManager as the popup says.
However, when I try to run "nm-applet" I get:
You should not run nm-applet. It depends on whether you use gnome or kde. In gnome, the network settings can be changed either by right-clicking on the network applet on the panel and choosing "Edit Connections..." or from the control center (System::Network Configuration). I don't disagree that the text in yast could be more clear. Tambet
** (nm-applet:8240): WARNING **: <WARN> applet_dbus_manager_start_service(): Could not acquire the NetworkManagerUserSettings service. Message: 'Connection ":1.77" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerUserSettings" due to security policies in the configuration file' (nm-applet:8240): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
So my question, how do I change this policy?
