I'm currently working on huge changes in the YaST DNS Server Configuration, the most important features are:
* New resource records: AAAA (IPv6), SRV, TXT * IPv6 reverse zones (possibly automatically generated) * More strict checking when creating or changing records * Checking whole zones for their completeness (NS, ...) * ...
Is there anyone who would like to test these new features and maybe add their own ideas, comments, etc.?
Is it possible to include a switch after storing the DNS Records in Ldap to say "please don't change my named.conf" ? In co-operation with Yast2-mail (server) a small DNS record is created in LDAP (only domain). With your new Features it is possible to store the whole DNS record in LDAD, but when I have to change my named.conf with features, that are not supported in the moment ;), I can't do it. After a change or add the DNS Records the named.conf is broken :(. OK, I like to test it ;) -- mit freundlichen Grüßen / best Regards, Günther J.
