Hello, Same for davfs mounting over /etc/fstab line: https://webdav.smartdrive.web.de/ /mnt/webde davfs auto,_netdev,noexec,user,uid=[1]uname,gid=users 0 0 Regards, CisBug Am Donnerstag, 4. Februar 2021, 17:09:26 CET schrieb Christian Mahr:
Hi
I see the same issue on a CIFS mount that are specified as "user" in fstab while being invoked as root. If a normal user mounts or "sudo -u <user> mount ..." is called, it works .
with "mount -v .." you can see that mount does generate the symfollow option passed to mount.cifs while it does not when called as normal user ...
is this intended behaviour? mount from 2.35.1 does NOT do that.
--> At least I would suspect a version mismatch between cifs-utils on one side and libmount1/util-linux on the other side - as mount.cifs does not even ignore the symfollow/nosymfollow option

Hi,
Since this update I get following error when cifs mounting via systemd: CIFS: Unknown mount option "symfollow"
Installing a previous version of libmount1 resolves the issue.
Does anyone happen to know if this is a configuration matter or if it would be a bug?
thanks, peter
