So minimal "fix" is to change distribution ID which at least allows search to work again for 15.3 again.
So... how about you create a pull request to the repository? Let's continue there, shall we? :-)
There is nothing to discuss. The current approach is wrong, nothing better can be done without involvement of OBS developers, they already bounced the problem off to "openSUSE release management" that does not exist as you explained.
You seem to think that there are OBS developers to freely commit by someone, to do any work that comes up. There are not. There is a shitload of things to do and people already pick their fights wisely.
This (as BTW 99% of any other problem in software/OBS) is solvable by anyone who can contribute code to an Ruby on Rails project. You are proof of that.
So now that I have cleaned up the project and you fixed the #1 bug, all everyone can do is to try to attract long term maintainers.
Thank you, Henne, and I fully agree. I see that the discussion itself, raised so much interest and willingness to help that I have not seen from the community in a long time.
