Hi Felix, Almost nothing in /etc/sysconfig/ is owned by any package. On 08.04.21 06:47, Felix Miata wrote:

fbset AFAICT is not available in any standard openSUSE repo, yet, we have the above in /etc/sysconfig/console. Why? Is fbset coming back? Debian (testing/11) still has it. Mageia still has it. What equally simple tool will report the current mode on the tty[1-6] FBs?
Maybe it is just an old config entry? When was this machine initially installed? Nothing ever gets removed from /etc/sysconfig/*, that's one of the problems of the fillup approach (which is slowly getting deprecated nowadays). Templates for /etc/sysconfig/* are in %_fillupdir: ~> rpm --eval %_fillupdir /usr/share/fillup-templates so you could try to find out if one of your installed packages carries this config with grep -r FBSET /usr/share/fillup-templates -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman
