[there is a config knob for libzypp, and another for zypper, to change between --recommends/--no-recommends]
Not really duplicate. libzypp is not only used by zypper, but also yast2-packagemanager iirc.
hmm, yes, but zypper itself also requires libzypp. I'd say, one definition is enough, isn't it? I'll take a look at cook up a patch if nobody objects.
Indeed; the one in zypper.conf feels somewhat redundant, though it does not terribly bother me.
Current mageia discussion for proposed distro implementation changes re upstream rpm distinction between suggests and recommends: https://ml.mageia.org/l/arc/dev/2014-09/msg00295.html Maybe the rpm distinction is why there are both *Requires and *Recommends, giving good reason for a distinction to remain?
zypp.onlyRequires has nothing to do with the changes that occurred in rpm and those that are to occur in Mageia. zypp.onlyRequires is simply a user preference knob which controls the default state of the… what in Windows installers would be the "install $crapware" checkbox. ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
