As I was reading this article: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_r600_r700_2d&num=1
<quote> While the ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics cards were introduced last week, the open-source support for the Radeon HD 2000/3000/4000 series is finally maturing. The Linux 2.6.32 kernel will feature kernel mode-setting support for these ATI R600/700 graphics processors as well as the DRM support for allowing 3D acceleration. </quote>
I'm wondering if kernel 2.6.32 will be incorporated in openSuSE 11.2 or will it stay at 2.6.31?
we already passed the "feature freeze" end-date.. that means : no more package upgrades, only critical bug fix.
in other words: No
That doesn't mean though that you cannot install kernel 2.6.32 on openSUSE 11.2.. .just that it will not be included on the DVD and not included as part of the standard patching/updates for the 11.2 release.
