Contemporary desktops should not be held back by limited resource devices or pseudo Luddites. Neither should the adoption of the contemporary desktops be held back by "certain prominent plasma devs" who are more than eager to thrash your CPU with new code rather than commit to a much needed stabilisation/refactoring release.
