I failed to install Leap 15.0 Beta Build129.1 tonight on my Compaq laptop. I downloaded it using aria2c and metalinks, so the image has to be correct. First I initiated it in a VM to check something and it worked, at least till the software proposal, then I aborted. I then copied the ISO to an USB stick to test on my laptop: it failed to boot. I then erased with zeros 16 MB of the stick, copied again the image, and tried again: it failed to boot. Blinking text cursor at the top left corner. I tried a 13.1 USB stick: booted fine. I copied the image to a different stick, booted correctly. The stick that failed is new. Verbatim, 8 GB. It correctly booted another image the other day. The laptop bios was flashed in between. Sometimes the laptop does not recognize the hard disk (SSD). Could this have something to do with it? I doubt it, as the bios selection lists both internal disk and external stick. I defined the partitions to format or mount, got to the software proposal. I notice XFCE was not there. Went back, activated online repositories, then custom-next and crash. Ruby crash. Hand copied: YaST2 - installation@install Error Internal error. Please report a bug report with logs. Had to mount one of the partitions to save the logs as requested. It complained that "no journal files were found". It produced a 212 KB tgz, though. I will create a Bugzilla with it tomorrow, now it is 4:18 AM and I'm too tired. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
