Did you read that bug report?
It has been fixed. I've even found the auto-hide in 11.4 (not that I care - I don't use it anyway).
I'm on the CC list, so have read its bug mail as it arrived. Last developer comments in the bug were two years ago. It's marked new, which means unfixed (over 4 years since filed).
May I please ask what is meant by "the plasma panel" in that bug report? especially when there is mention of "it" being on the left side of the screen (and whatever else)? Knowing this would be most helpful because Claudio seems to be talking about the Taskbar - which contains the Kickoff and the clock and the volume control and the Desktop/Workplace icons and........ The Taskbar can certainly be made to auto-hide (and this is a very simple thing to do). And this "plasma panel" is what is normally called "the cahew" then this "cashew" can now be banished from the Desktop/Workplace.
