Hello,
change. Was able to get rid of the screen-locker but could not find a place to setup a screen-saver.
AFAIK you need to configure xscreensaver manually. Direct support for XScreensaver has been removed due to security concerns (kill screensaver -> get access to the machine) and other technical reasons. Also this has been discussed on the KDE Community Forums, including a poll which showed that the majority of the participants were fine with the removal.
There's a blog post (long) detailing the reasoning, however I can't link it at the moment as it is down.
Thanks Luca. Was not aware of a discussion about screen-savers as I am not following community forums. Will delve into the manual setup of screen-savers. -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 and LXDE on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 20150516 (x86_64) Kernel: 4.0.3-1-desktop KDE Development Platform: 4.14.8 12:33pm up 1:51, 2 users, load average: 0.16, 0.30, 0.34 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
