However... do you intend to compile the kernel? If not, you do not need kernel-source. Or compile anything? If not, you do not need make nor checkinstall. Skype is up to you, whether you intend to use it or not. It is not part of the distro at all, you must have installed it yourself from other sources.
So have you, but that is not relevant. I found out that it is indeed about packages that are not part of the original install. Yes the sources and friends were for to compile a useless ndis-driver: it is in the kernel modules. But i did not know at the time. So now i can not get rid of it, because i can not login as root to desktop. And skype, daily much used app onboard, and installed from original website. -- Have a nice day, Oddball.
