I ran the nvidia uninstall a while back when I switched to onboard graphics, while I was still on 11.2 actually, and I've searched for all traces of nvidia via your suggestion rpm -qa and lsmod. I've been through a couple of zypper dups since which updated xorg files. What else can I look for?
Once more. *Reinstall* xorg-x11-server and Mesa. If required with "--force".
Probably before you need to install x11-video-nvidia{,G01,G02} again and uninstall it immediately.
Thanks, Stefan
I exited to runlevel 3 tried ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run which didn't install anything due to the fact that I don't have any nvidia card installed, then :- ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run --uninstall which also said that no nvidia is installed. I reinstalled all of my xorg packages and Mesa, rebooted and there is no difference, still have :- [ 31.622] (EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found) and davepl@Arbuthnot:/data/src/osc/home:plater/Mesa> glxinfo name of display: :0.0 Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". I've used intel 915 graphics before and ran blender and opengl apps but it looks like there's no hope in 11.3.
