I could not find any way to do it using up to date factory images. Is it intentional or work is still in progress?
Not having ability to do it makes one stage installation basically useless as you need to postprocess it always (and changing hostname normally requires reboot anyway).
Try again? I had no problem getting 32 bit Factory to HTTP minimal X install by starting with Grub loading linux, initrd and cmdline network configs from an EXT2 partition. Presumably the same entries can be manually made on the cmdline using the boot.iso. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
