I don't see much benefit of NetworkManager on a typical desktop machine. IIUC the desire for NetworkManager is mainly for easier management of wi-fi connections. How about using NetworkManager by default if there is a wi-fi device and wicked if not?
My home server has both ethernet and WiFi hardware.
There will always be exceptions, sure, but I wanted to minimize the damage. But it seems inevitable so let's just add another entry to my "distribution defaults to override on all new installations" list.
Hm. Three of my four boxen are "exceptions", the :) exception being my HP lappy (spectre 360), which has only wi-fi. -Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
