I was looking at what was consuming all of memory on my machine, I tripped over console-kit-daemon. According to Lennart at Freedesktop.org, functionality in systemd has replaced ConsoleKit, and it's been deprecated.
Do we still need console-kit-daemon running on 12.1 with systemd ???
That is correct, Console Kit is deprecated.
zypper -v rm ConsoleKit
167 packages to remove. After the operation, 427.1 MiB will be freed.
doesn't seem like it's deprcated in 12.1rc2 Hmm. Maybe it is deprecated, but things are still built dependant on them. But from what I read from the developer, systemd makes ConsoleKit unnecesary and as far as I know not inherently useful.
and systemd isn't mandatory for 12.1... -- Frederic Crozat <fcrozat@suse.com> SUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
