It's also a case of "You Can Too" if you are willing to put the time into learning the Build System, collecting the packages you want together and so on. If you want to make a very reduced system, say for JUST photo-editing, then it might even fir on a CD or 1G USB depending on how aggressive you are about editing the GUI/DisplayManager side of things. Or again if you just want enough to make an emulation that serves as a Cromebook loader.
