I'd be interested why this change was done (and if a similar change should be done for other python scripts), but unfortunately the bugreport is not public :-(
Can someone please make the bugreport public or explain why using "/usr/bin/env python" is a bad idea?
Bug 889363: Zypper fails when custom version of Python is additionally installed. The plugins primary task is to work with the python version shipped with the distribution. This must not be disturbed by any custom version that happens to be installed in a directory before /usr/bin in $PATH. -- cu, Michael Andres +------------------------------------------------------------------+ Key fingerprint = 2DFA 5D73 18B1 E7EF A862 27AC 3FB8 9E3A 27C6 B0E4 +------------------------------------------------------------------+ Michael Andres SUSE LINUX GmbH, Development, ma@suse.de Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany, ++49 (0)911 - 74 053-0 +------------------------------------------------------------------+ SUSE Linux GmbH GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Jennifer Guild Dilip Upmanyu, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) +------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
