Tryin to scan using our trusted CanoScan LiDE 60 I get:

I've got a Lide 220 and get the same results

scanimage -T
scanimage: no SANE devices found
Mine works okay
root gets:
# sane-find-scanner -q found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x221c [CanoScan], chip=GL842) at libusb:003:021 # scanimage -T scanimage: no SANE devices found
Yep, i get the same
trying to start the sane service I get:
# systemctl enable saned.socket Failed to enable unit: File saned.socket: Is a directory
# ls -ld /usr/lib/systemd/system/sane* drw-r--r-- 2 root root 4096 23. Jun 09:38 /usr/lib/systemd/system/saned@.service drw-r--r-- 2 root root 4096 23. Jun 09:38 /usr/lib/systemd/system/saned.socket
What's going wrong here?
At a first guess, saned.socket and saned@.service should be files with some config contents - have a look at this link http://manpages.ubuntu.com/ manpages/xenial/man8/saned.8.html
Kind regards Berthold
