The users spoke and we still ship this as an optional enlightenment theme (not as the default) because people really like it. If were having an additional wallpaper package (great idea) I see no problem in including 1-2 of the most popular older wallpapers along with a number of new ones. We should of course do something new as the default branding but someone will always complain they don't like the new thing so why not give them the choice of the old one, if they really want it they'll just go download it from somewhere on the interwebs anyway.
I heard even better proposal, create multiple packages with Wallpapers options, and maybe even have wallpaper packs like "wallpapers-ubuntu-16.04", "wallpapers-opensuse-pre42.3", "wallpapers-opensuse-15", "wallpapers-current" because they are licenced in a way in which we can use it, and on top of that they would be really cool way to show appreciation of other distros, as well as appreciation of our own community. The reason I found it cool, because there were people that submited wallpapers to both openSUSE and Ubuntu Bungie flickrs and some of them landed in Ubuntu Bungie like: https://www.flickr.com/photos/107524729@N08/10633668276/in/pool-opensuse-art... and some more. I also looked over some old submissions to openSUSE Artwork group there, some of them for sure will land in wallpaper package, they are too good. I'm against using Flickr for any kind of submissions, knowing Yahoos way of keeping data safe ;) So I created Github repo for it under https://github.com/LelCP/wallpapers I accept all pull requests as long as they include license. I'm well aware git is the worst way to keep any sort of artwork (ekhm, opensuse/artwork is hell), but I didn't have any better idea, so I just did what I know best. All those wallpaper packages should fill https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/artwork:wallpapers which is currently filled with 6-10 yo wallpapers, and I don't like that it's unused, time to fill it up with something fun :D LCP [Stasiek] https://lcp.world -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
