Tumbleweed is NOT a full replacement for the 11.3 repos, nor will it be a replacement for the 11.4 repos. It's an "add-on".
I'm very eagerly looking forward to an ever-lasting system.
I have been running 11.3 Tumbleweed on a test box and I've kept duping it since the Tumbleweed launch.
I was also very happy to get LibreOffice there since I've replaced Ooo some time ago with it.
For the future, to know more about these, I have a question:
Two installations:
# 1. Current 11.3, and I keep duping it as 11.3 Tumbleweed.
# 2. 11.4 when out, and I keep duping it as 11.4 Tumbleweed.
Stop right there, that will not be possible.
Tumbleweed will _ALWAYS_ be based on the latest release, there will not be a 11.3 Tumbleweed and a 11.4 Tumbleweed. Just "Tumbleweed".
Will I have two different ever-running installations? Or,
No, your first one would break in lots of interesting ways as it would not work when 11.4 comes out, or it might just not allow any future updates as the packages would be for a different "base" release.
hope this helps,
It didn't much, sorry. I'll try again: Case 1: I have 11.3 in one machine and I'll keep Tumbleweeding it. Where will this lead me to? And for how long? Case 2: I install 11.4 on another machine and then keep Tumbleweeding that. Where will this lead me to? And for how long? What I'd like is like to jump on one train and stay there.
