I just noticed the serial_8250 driver
That certainly takes me back. Many years ago, I designed and built an 8 port serial I/O board for my IMSAI 8080 computer. I used the 8250 UART. In the process I found a bug in the 8250 and advised the manufacturer. I designed the board so that all the UARTs shared the same address, as was commonly done on mini-computers, but not on PCs, where each had it's own address. I also wrote my own software to run it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMSAI_8080 Can we please keep this the opensuse-factory@o.o list, where factory- development is discussed?
