what exactly is your point? I think for the default behaviour for nowadays normal home users WiFi matters most so that there is no need to care about non-WiFi stuff too much. I think the openSUSE defaults ought to be suitable for SOHO users too. Besides, with fixed network, you get gigabit speed. Both used to work out of the box for years now, provided you use a desktop.
