I've noticed that GCC shipped with 11.4 has Plugin support disabled, was there specific reason to as why it was disabled? In 4.5 it was unstable and doesn't work for all platforms, and we wanted to reduce the feature matrix to not be bothered with bug reports that aren't going to be fixed for 4.5.
And if the feature could be re-enabled for 11.4? No.
Or alternative solution? Use gcc46 or wait for 4.7. See project devel:gcc, containing updated and upcoming (gcc47) packages also for older distros.
Ciao, Michael. Hello,
Thanks for clarifying... I do have a few questions to ask: Will GCC 4.6 be included in OpenSuSE 11.4 (Even in the Evergreen project)? (is that what you meant by "older distros.") , Would I need to keep devel:gcc to continue to receive bug and security fixes? , I'm also concerned about stability and security, is GCC 4.6 relatively safe? Unfortunately I can't wait until 4.7 as I have other projects postponed until this particular issues is resolved. Thanks I've upgraded to GCC 4.6: gcc -v Using built-in specs. I've physically checked, plugin headers are still missing, there are no gcc-plugin.h and various other headers packaged with GCC 4.6.
