# pvcreate /dev/sda7 Device /dev/sda7 not found (or ignored by filtering).
I have not modified /etc/lvm/lvm.conf from default, so the filter should be the default one and I assume that should allow /dev/sda7 to be used.
Does anyone know why this is failing?
No, but you might try creating the lvm with yast disk. I had no problems when I originally created mine and I used yast as I was quite unfamiliar with lvm and the command-line actions.
