I support your thought on changing the devel project of the library.
I have lots of packages in security:forensics now that I originally put in devel:languages:*. It was just too hard to keep things straight with them in a different project.
Greg All the packages I've put in devel:languages:c_c++ (all one of them) I am maintainer. The problem here is clementine suddenly started using libcryptopp and the maintainer hasn't been active for a while, I don't even know why an update was even necessary and why the original versioned library name was converted to a major.minor only library package when it's known that libraries built with c++ break symbols and need three field ie. major.minor.patch sonames to make the dependent package rebuild when they update. The ideal situation is for somebody to make me a maintainer of the package but the submit request seems to be ignored. There's a CVE that's not mentioned in the changes file as well, don't know yet if 42.2 has this fixed or not yet.
