I can only guess there is a reason it's not pushed to factory. One possible reason I can think of is that it's not ready yet.

Well, systemd was pushed when it was not ready at all. PulseAudio is still no ready yet and in oS since years. ;-) All I know is that the current splash implementation does not display at all on my work PC with Radeon GPU.
