Are there any objections against this step? i think we should create for this a new repo called php54. what do you think?? Can I deduce from your question a positive answer to my question ;-)?

yes and i think that you should do different repo (php for v5.3 and php54 for v5.4) becuase if you dont there will be alot of people how dont agree with you
Hi, I have no objections against php 5.4... but am also only a light user of it. As for the repo: I thinkn 'php' should point to the most recent version. If somebody wants to maintain a 2nd repo for an older / outdated version, this one should move to a different name (so that would be 'php' for php 5.4 and php53 for php 5.3... always keeping the new one in the 'right place' allows for the users to stay on one project and moving forward.. otherwise they have to keep on switching projects... the user that does not want to move, can 'switch his repos' to the newly created name, where the 'old' version remains.
